Mounting

Mounting is to embed irregular cutting extracted samples into a mold with resin to prepare them into regular standard metallographic samples.It is convenient for grinding,polishing, clamping and microscopic observation. According to the curing method of the resin, it is divided into hot mounting and cold mounting. Use appropriate mounting methods and corresponding resins for samples with different characteristics.

Sample Preparation of Titanium and Titanium Alloys

Titanium and titanium alloys usually adapt cooling mounting.

Heat mounting may can produce the hydrogen pollution and the metastable βphase will decompose because the hydrogen in the mounting material may diffuse into the sample in the hot state.Since the solubility of hydrogen in the α phase is extremely low, the solubility increases when the temperature rises, and the solubility decreases when cooling, resulting in the precipitation of tiny dispersed titanium hydrides.

Polishing Suspension

The high-purity materials are preferred whether it is diamond suspension or oxide polishing liquid, cause it has high grinding rate and removal rate.
